Parlament Ungarn

Parlamentsgebäude Ungarn

The Parliament Building, the seat of the Hungarian Parliament, was built in Budapest between 1885 and 1904. The 268 meter long, 123 meter wide and 96 meter high landmark stands directly on the Danube.
The model for the parliament building was London's Westminster Palace. The façade is characterized by neo-Gothic elements, such as numerous towers and gables.
The interior of the building, decorated with frescoes and murals, was kept in the neoclassical style.
The architect Imre Steindl was never able to see his creation in its finished state, as he tragically went blind before completion.
