Active ceilings for heating and cooling
Uniform temperature distribution, optimum indoor climate and a valuable contribution to thermal comfort – active ceilings do all that and more.
Active ceilings for heating and cooling
Suspended ceiling systems are suitable both for use in new buildings and for retrofitting in renovations. Due to the individual size adjustment, available ceiling surfaces can be optimally used for heating and cooling applications.
The use of heat-conducting sheets guarantees optimum transition of the energy into the ceiling construction, ensuring even heating and/or cooling distribution within the ceiling and achieving maximum performance.
Closed ceiling systems evenly cover the entire ceiling area. Your substructure can be suspended individually and is completely covered by a homogeneous ceiling soffit. The overlying ceiling cavity is available for installation and remains accessible for maintenance and revision at any time. Lighting, ventilation and sprinklers can be harmoniously integrated into the ceiling. The heat distribution in the room mostly occurs via the exchange of heat radiation.
Open ceiling systems, which include, for example, ceiling panels, occupy only part of the ceiling area. They are usually suspended below a finished ceiling. Due to their individual arrangement, shape and surface, there are virtually no limits to their design. Based on the occupied area, ceiling panels have a very high heating and cooling capacity and they are very effective as part of acoustic room optimisation.
A balanced indoor climate and uniform room temperatures in summer and winter are of particular importance in modern sales rooms and production halls, to ensure well-being and concentrated work. In order to meet these demands, cooling and heating systems for the ceiling area have been developed into multifunctional systems.
The biggest advantage of active ceilings is undoubtedly their positive influence on thermal comfort: active ceilings emit heat in the same way the sun does. They penetrate the air without heating it and transfer their energy directly to other surfaces. This radiation principle is made use of by KE KELIT active ceilings. In this way, they create a natural, healthy room climate with little-moving, dust-free breathing air and optimum humidity at low room temperatures and provide a pleasant feeling of warmth.
Core Activation is the term used for the heating of spaces or complete buildings by embedding heating and cooling registers in parts of the building during its construction. Ke Kelit has a wide range of systems which are suited to every location and application.
Heating and cooling by core activation can achieve a high level of comfort
Regulating the temperature of a building all year round is an important part of design for future-oriented projects. The very large area used for such projects means the system enjoys the advantages of surface temperature control, irrespective of the floor construction. Maximum comfort is felt by the radiation of heating and cooling in low temperature systems and a uniform distribution of heat is attained.
